
THE BOOKING PROCESS
If you're like many brides-to-be, you've never planned a wedding before, and have no idea what all is involved with hiring a photographer for one of the most important days in your life! As your potential photographer, I try my best to make everything as easy to understand as possible. This page is devoted to the process of booking Michaela Cox Photography to document your big day!
If you've made it to this point, there's a good chance you vibe with my work and my personality! That's amazing and I'd be so honored to work with you. In the section below, I've broken down each step on how to proceed from here.

The very first step to booking with me is to hop on over to my Inquire page and fill out an inquiry form so that I can find out important details like your wedding date, venue, and what your vision looks like. There are also a few spaces where you can tell me about yourselves as a couple. The more information I have, the better! A button linked to my inquiry page will be attached at the bottom.
After I've received your inquiry form, I'll get back to you within 48 hours via email to discuss your ideas, as well as to set up a consultation to make sure I'm a good fit! I always love to meet in person if you're local, but if not, we will set up a phone or video call that works with both of our schedules. This gives you an opportunity to ask all of your burning questions!
If you've made it to this step- yay! That means that you're about to officially have your wedding photographer booked and can check that off of your to-do list. I send over a link via email to you and your fiance using a booking program called Honeybook that includes your service selections, contract, and payment portal. I require a 30% retainer to secure your wedding date. Once all signatures are collected on the contract and the deposit is paid, you're set! I'll begin to send you resources like my Wedding Planning Guide and more to help you in your planning.

ENGAGEMENT SESSION

Who doesn't love extras? All of my wedding photography packages include a complimentary engagement session! This is a great way to get to work together ahead of the wedding day and provides you with some cherished memories of this special stage. After booking, we'll begin to look at potential dates and locations (I've got plenty of recommendations) for an engagement session and I'll send you my exclusive wardrobe guide. If you end up not needing the engagement session, you can choose between replacing it with a bridal session, an after-the-wedding couple's session, or partial rehearsal dinner coverage (may be subject to additional travel cost depending on location).
It's time to tie the knot! A few weeks before your wedding day I will send over a questionnaire that gathers all of the information that I'll need to know going into the big day. We'll also run over everything beforehand to make sure we're both on the same page! Now that your wedding day is here, it's my job to help make your day as stress-free as possible when it comes to your photographs. I'll work closely with your other vendors to ensure your needs are met where I can! The only thing you need to do is to focus on your friends and family- and most importantly, your new husband!
Now you're married, and you and your boo thing are riding off into the sunset, ready to begin a brand new season! My job from here involves editing your images into beautiful, lasting memories. Within a week of your wedding day, you'll receive an online gallery with some sneak peeks. The turn around time for your full gallery will be around 8-10 weeks, but could be shorter during a slower season. Also, be sure to check your mail shortly after that for an exclusive gift of a sampling of prints, a cute USB, and a little something extra in a precious keepsake box!
