FAQs

This space is dedicated to answering all (or hopefully most) of your burning questions about how I operate!

Do you travel?

Yes! I'll travel anywhere you're willing to take me. I only ask that you cover a mileage fee and airfare/lodging if applicable. You can find more details about my travel fees on my pricing guide! p.s. be sure to follow along on Instagram @michaelacoxphotography- sometimes I offer free packages to destinations and you just cover travel!

Do you have experience with all kinds of lighting?

I do indeed! When possible, I like to use available light (natural, preferably!) for beautiful, balanced images. When the sun goes down or in dim lighting, my favorite method of illumination is direct flash! Think Old-Hollywood vibes.

What gear do you use?

I use Canon brand gear for my business. I currently shoot on a Canon R6! When I pack for a wedding, I include my camera, an array of lenses, my flash, extra batteries and extra media cards. My philosophy says that you can never be too prepared!

Do you have insurance?

Yes, I do! Most venues require wedding vendors to carry liability insurance. If you find that your venue needs a copy of the certification, just let me now!

How will our photos be delivered to us?

When your photos are finalized, I will send them over in a secured digital gallery via Pixieset. You can download images from there and your access will never expire or cost you anything.

Do we get the RAW files?

I don't give out my RAW files for a few reasons. For one, those files would be HUGE- thousands of images in RAW take up a lot more storage than you'd think! Perhaps the most important reason, though, is to maintain the integrity and consistency of my work. I wouldn't give away a half finished painting!

Do you retain the copyright to the images?

Yes! As clients of mine you will receive printing and personal usage rights that allow you to share the photos on social media, with family and friends, and make prints, and I will retain ownership of all images I take.
